Lateral restraint works

A very common defect where a lack of lateral restraint leads to bowing of walls – usually flank elevations.

    Cem Flex ties are employed in any situation where a piece of solid masonry (not cavity) needs stitching.

Cem Flex

Cem Flex ties are employed in any situation where a piece of solid masonry needs stitching. It is not designed for cavity walls. Pinning of masonry brick arches, bonding across cracks and restraining solid masonry walls that have bowed are all within the scope of this versatile stabilisation fixing.

The 8mm or 10mm diameter Grade 304 austenitic stainless steel tie is combined with a pumpable but thixotropic non-shrink cementitious grout. The tie is fully encapsulated within the 12-16mm hole drilled for insertion.

The hand held grout gun kit ensures the installation causes minimal disfiguration and is carried out very quickly and efficiently – this is a very important factor when working and access times are restricted

Lateral restraint ties

8mm stainless steel self boring restraint ties ranging in size from 1m–2m. These ties are fitted from outside the building with the minimum of disturbance they will re – establish the connection between the exterior masonry and the internal floor joists thus providing additional lateral restraint to the structure.
